The Forest Cycling Route, which runs along the foot of Rožnik Hill, connects Tivoli Park to Mostec. As you cycle along this route you will discover the “green lungs” of Ljubljana and meet the many local inhabitants who use the area for recreation and relaxation.
The route goes past three important buildings located just opposite the entrance to Tivoli Park, Ljubljana’s largest park. These are the National Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Museum of Modern Art and the National Gallery. The pleasant route continues around the foot of Rožnik Hill to Koseze Pond. This small man-made lake on the edge of the Ljubljana is a fine example of a marsh habitat and is home to rare animal and plant species. A macadam track then leads into the forest covering Rožnik and Šiška Hill. Surrounded by greenery, cycle past Ljubljana Zoo and back towards Tivoli and the city centre.
