Ever since I had found out about the wind tunnel opening in Logatec, a town 30 kilometers west of Ljubljana, I wanted to see what it is all about. I already jumped out of an airplane with a parachute and loved it, so I wanted to check this out as well and see how different from skydiving this experience is.

I’m fairly certain visiting museums and galleries is one of the top priorities for you, when visiting a new city. Ljubljana has a bunch of them, which you probably already know, but let me tell you a little secret. The non-centre part of town, can be pretty remarkable too. This is why I love to visit the Museum of Architecture and Design. It’s a great place if you’re into architecture, graphic or industrial design, so without further ado, here are my five reasons why should you consider visiting MAO.

In the warm sunrise light, endless meadows speckled with purple bell-shaped flowers of the leper lily (Fritillaria Meleagris) and other little wild flowers sparkle in morning dew. Not too far away, deer chew on spring goodies, unaffected by the passing visitors. And as birds continue with their heart-warming melodies, I follow lonely paths deeper into the Ljubljana Marshes, my mind off and the batteries-recharging mood on.

With strikingly beautiful panoramic views, an enchanting green meadow stretches between towering peaks to the east and west and continues into a steep drop to the glacial Logar Valley to the north. At 1,900 m, Kamniško Sedlo is one of those easy half-day hikes that ends on a sunny terrace of a friendly hut in the middle of a mountain idyll, while also connecting with the neighbouring peaks through a myriad of trails. The best part? It’s less than 40 km from Ljubljana!
