LGBTQI+ book publishers

The LGBTQI+ literary scene in Ljubljana (and also in Slovenia) is considered one of the strongest in Europe, to the envy of many other countries. Slovenian LGBT authors receive many of the highest national poetry and literary awards. This is possible thanks largely to the two LGBT literary publishing houses that operate within the ŠKUC Association. For many authors, they serve as a doorway into the literary world, and for many young LGBT persons, as one of the first steps towards learning about their gender identity.
