Potable water and public drinking fountains
Ljubljana is a city which can be proud of its clean drinking water. Also elsewhere in Slovenia, tap water is of good quality and suitable for drinking. While rambling the streets of Ljubljana, you can quench your thirst for free at public drinking fountains, which operate from April to October.
Ljubljana's drinking fountains are regularly maintained and the water within the city's public water distribution system regularly analyzed. For hygienic reasons, however, it is recommended that you should let the water run for a few moments before drinking or filling your bottle. Public drinking fountains operate during the warm months, usually from April to October.
Check out the public drinking fountain locations at the website of the Vo-ka public company or download the mobile application 'Tap Water Ljubljana' for iOS or Android.
