This tour offers a detailed insight into most of Art Nouveau sights located in Ljubljana city centre, a creative and colorful view of the city. Art Nouveau has drawn inspiration from flora and fauna. from folklore, exotic cultures and religions and also geometric shapes.
During the tour, you will pass by the majority of Ljubljana's most typical art Nouveau buildings. At the central Prešernov trg square you will take a look at the Hauptman House and one of the most interesting building, the Urbanc House. Along the Miklošičeva street and around the Miklošič park you will be able to see buildings designed by the architect Maks Fabiani, the famous Grand Hotel Union, Ljubljana's first modern and, at the time of its construction, largest hotel, which continues to retain its distinctive Art Nouveau style. The tour will take to Nebotičnik (the Skyscraper). It was the tallest building on the Balkans and the ninth tallest building in Europe at the time of its construction. You will pass the Mladika building, the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign affairs and end up at the Kongresni trg square.
