Among the herdsmen on Velika Planina

Have an authentic experience of traditional herdsmen life in a picturesque mountain environment not far from Ljubljana.

Visit Velika Planina, one of the most beautiful Slovenian high mountain plateaus, where you can still meet real herdsmen on green pastures, while the pleasant aromas of sour milk, buckwheat žganci and alpine tea waft from the typical cottages.

Listen to the sound of the herdsman's horn, breathe the fresh mountain air and enjoy the stunning views of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps.

The price includes transfer and guidance, cable car and double-chairlift ride and admission fee to Preskar's Museum.

Trip terms and conditions

Comfortable and warm clothes and hiking boots are obligatory. We also recommend hiking poles.
The trip is canceled in the event of bad weather.
