The Grič family restaurant is at the very top of Slovenian haute cuisine. Chef Luka Košir impresses with endless creativity, working closely with the rest of the family and drawing inspiration from the local environment and nature. Committed to a green future, the family uses local ingredients grown on their own farm, foraged in the nearby forests, meadows, and fields, or bought from (mostly) neighbouring producers. The dishes they create are veritable avant-garde masterpieces, always made from the finest seasonal ingredients and bursting with flavour.
The Orešnik Cheese Dairy is the preferred choice of the most demanding gourmets, who favour the divine goat’s cheeses produced here. All the products here are excellent, however, which is nothing strange since the dairy works strictly according to the principles of organic farming and sticks to the belief that only the best is good enough. And that’s how Orešnik delicacies have found their way into Grič and other top restaurants.
Prepare for an Unforgettable Experience!
Welcome to Šentjošt nad Horjulom, a village which is surrounded by the Polhov Gradec Hills, where people are closely connected to each other (and to nature), and where creativity abounds at every step, not just in gastronomy, for which Šentjošt is best known.
First, meet the Orešnik family. They will open the doors to their farm and cheese dairy, inviting you into an authentic rural world. Visit the herd of goats who spend most of the year on scenic meadows overgrown with wild flowers – the best choice for pasture to ensure a wide range of delicious goat milk products. As you’ll see for yourself as you wander around the farm in the company of your hosts, before sampling a selection of outstanding goat’s cheeses with fragrant freshly baked bread and other delicacies. The first heavenly experience.
And then… The second heavenly experience. It is time to activate all your senses as you enjoy chef Luka Košir's superb five-course menu. Situated on another scenic hill not far from the Orešnik farm, Grič was originally a log cabin serving simple home-cooked fare but has evolved into a one-of-a-kind avant-garde restaurant. The hosts will invite you behind the scenes where you can discover the background of one of the biggest success stories in Slovenian gastronomy. This includes their environmental efforts, which have earned them a green Michelin star in addition to the better-known red one.
This exclusive, prestigious experience will seduce you with unforgettable flavours among the tranquil countryside just outside the capital.
