From Grain to Bread

Perched high above the town of Kamnik in Zgornje Palovče village is Baudnar's Homestead where you can learn about life in Slovene villages 350 years ago.

You will find a warm welcome in the so-called “black kitchen” named after its sooted walls. In the main room of the house, called “kmečka izba”, you will meet the landlady and help her mix and bake a genuine home-made bread made in an authentic bread oven. While waiting for the bread to bake, you will take a peek into the remaining rooms and finally conclude the visit with a tasting of local treats accompanied by the freshly baked bread.

The price includes return transport from Ljubljana, a bread baking workshop, a tasting of home-made cold cuts, juice and spirits, and a souvenir.
