The location of today’s Brezovica was inhabited already in the Roman times.

A wayside settlement between Emona (the then name of Ljubljana) and Nauportus (Vrhnika) stood here. Brezovica, once mostly a peasant settlement, was first mentioned in 1314.

Brezovica lies along the Ljubljana Marshes, representing a unique natural environment with numerous cycling routes leading towards Vrhnika, Podpeč and Ljubljana. Brezovica is one of the main departure points towards many interesting excursions places around Ljubljana, such as Rakitna, Podpeč, Jezero or Kamnik under Krim.
