Detailed path description
The tour starts at Trubar's Homestead in Rašica, where the information centre of Velike Lašče is. The homestead serves as the venue for a rich cultural programme of events throughout the year.
The route will take you past several local landmarks, including the picturesque Turjak Castle, which has a turbulent history; the village of Gradež, which boasts the only functioning village fruit drying kiln in Slovenia; the roaring Bajdinški slapovi waterfalls, and the Church of St. Kancijan in Škocjan, where Primož Trubar was baptised.
There are a few longer climbs on the tour, but you will be well-rewarded for conquering them with magnificent views. Most of the route runs on paved roads, with some sections on gravel.
You end the tour where you started, at Trubar’s Homestead.
