Path recap

Especially since you will mainly cycle along a pleasant dirt path along the lively Kamniški Bistrica River. Upon your return from the park, be careful on the road not get too enchanted and distracted by the view of the Alps!
Detailed path description
You start your short, flat cycling tour in the charming old town of Kamnik, in front of the local Tourist Information Centre (TIC) and the interesting facade of the building on the Main Square, which is the work of the greatest Slovenian architect, master Jože Plečnik.
From here you will head along the picturesque Šutna Street towards Kamniška Bistrica where a well-maintained walking trail leading towards Arboretum Volčji Potok starts. Along the way, you can also stop at one of the pebble “beaches” on the banks of one of Slovenia's cleanest rivers.
When the gravel path ends, you will have a short ride to the botanical park on a wide asphalt road, which may be busy with traffic at times.
If, after visiting the botanical park, you are tempted to do some more cycling, you can take a short trip around Arboretum Volčji Potok on a quiet asphalt and gravel road. Otherwise, you can return to Kamnik along the same route.
The route around the arboretum extends the original track by 3 kilometres, adds 80 metres of elevation, and increases the cycling time by about 30 minutes.
Starting point is Kamnik TIC.
