E-BIKE TOUR ACROSS THE POLHOV GRADEC DOLOMITES

Treat yourself to a superb sightseeing tour of the wonderful world of the Polhov Gradec Dolomites - on an e-bike! You will be amazed by the nature around you: the vast forests, meadows, and pastures, and the views over the rugged surroundings and beyond, all the way to the grey ridges of the Alps. You will be impressed by the cultural landscape: picturesque churches on hills, lonely farms, and remote villages. Riding an e-bike, you will effortlessly admire the intertwinement of the natural and cultural landscapes of the Polhov Gradec Dolomites in a relaxing fashion without getting worn out when climbing all of the slopes along the route.

You can set out on your ride through the undulating foothills on Ljubljana's doorstep at the Polhov Gradec Mansion in Polhov Gradec, the central town of the Polhov Gradec Dolomites, or at the Pr’Popr holiday farm on Črni Vrh, both of which offer the rental of electric mountain bikes.

If you choose to start "castle style", you will ride from the mansion along the flat valley of the Božna stream, which gurgles along the roadside in the shelter of the forest. When the signpost directs you left to Črni Vrh, its even livelier tributary takes over the musical accompaniment. After a while, the steepest part of the tour begins: the long serpentine climb up to Črni Vrh. As you enter the village, you will see a signpost for the Pr’Popr homestead, just a stone's throw from the road.

You'll ride your e-bike comfortably up the hill and enjoy the increasingly scenic landscape. From spring to autumn, you'll be bathed in all shades of green, and in late autumn, you'll enjoy a palette of warm fall foliage colours.

The route will take you along wide asphalt and gravel roads where you will hardly see a car, and mainly through a scenic open landscape of meadows and pastures, past remote villages and isolated farms and under churches on hills in the embrace of forests. You'll hear the sounds of nature, from silence to birdsong, to the rustling of treetops. And you may occasionally be greeted loudly by goats and sheep, or cows...

The route is not signposted and can only be cycled using GPX tracks or by accessing a mobile app that guides you along the route. Both will be provided when you rent your e-bike and protective equipment.
