The world's most popular musical, The Phantom of the Opera, will have its spectacular Slovenian premiere this summer as part of the 73rd Ljubljana Festival.

The Phantom of the Opera is the most critically acclaimed musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, having won over 70 major theatre awards, including four Oliviers and seven Tonys.

The musical, based on Gaston Leroux’s novel, is set in 19th-century Paris, where a musical genius, known as the Phantom, hides deep beneath the Paris Opera House. The Phantom becomes captivated by the talent and beauty of young soprano Christine Daaé and tries to persuade her to become his protégée.

This latest production, featuring a star-studded cast from the West End and Broadway, will be presented in Ljubljana.
