Štêpánka Balcarová is a Czech trumpeter, composer and orchestra conductor. She is inspired by nature, poetry and visual art. The greatest influence on her musical creativity is the musical legacy of Bob Brookmeyer.
Balcarová completed her master's degree in jazz trumpet at the prestigious Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland, and later studied jazz composition and arranging in Graz under the guidance of Edward Partyka. She now lives in Prague and teaches at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory and Vocational School and at the Jazz Department. Balcarová is the leader of several musical projects and occasionally collaborates with important players of the Eastern European jazz scene. In Slovenia, she has performed with the RTV Slovenia Big Band and in several concerts of the Krško Big Band.

The Ljubljana Castle Jazz Club is open from 19:00 to 23:00, with musicians performing at 20:00.

Tickets are on sale at the Ljubljana Castle ticket offices, the reception of the Celica Hostel, the lower funicular station, via www.ljubljanskigrad.si and at all www.mojekarte.si sales outlets (including Petrol stations, Kompas offices around Slovenia, etc.).

On the day of the concert, tickets can be purchased at the Entrance Pavilion and at the lower funicular station until 20.45. The concert ticket includes a return ticket for the funicular, which runs until 23.00 on the day of the concert.
