Carnival of Mozirje is the name given to the Mozirje Carnival Group and the carnival customs that take place in Mozirje every year from Maundy Thursday to Ash Wednesday.

As part of the Open Day programme at the Slovenian Ethnographic Museum, you are invited to the opening of the exhibition Carnival of Mozirje.

Learn about the characteristics of the Mozirje Carnival people, such as their carnival attire, which consists of a black cylindrical hat, a tailcoat and white trousers. The 'fana' is a flag that the carnival group carries at the start of the parade, so that you can see who is coming from afar. In all carnivals, the group is accompanied by a carnival orchestra.
