The Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra (Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo) is renowned for its remarkable ability to move between classical tradition and contemporary musical currents. Particularly acclaimed are its interpretations of impressionist works by Ravel and Debussy, in which the orchestra reveals unexpected dramatic dimensions of this music.

This time, the orchestra will be led by the distinguished Charles Dutoit, a master of orchestral colour and a regular guest on Ljubljana’s stages. He will be joined by the legendary pianist Martha Argerich, whose performances of Schumann’s singular Piano Concerto in A minor have captivated audiences worldwide. Her interpretation, focused on the dialogue between soloist and orchestra, has significantly shaped the modern understanding of this Romantic masterpiece. Dutoit notes that Argerich consistently uncovers the profound truth of every musical work.
