Ljubljana is one of the cycling capitals – but also a capital of mountain biking. How do we back this claim? There are thousands of us from Ljubljana that choose mountain biking as the favorite sport and also a lifestyle.

Ljubljana, an MTB capital, attracts many mountain biking enthusiasts. The city boasts a wealth of excellent trails on its surrounding hills, which are carefully maintained by volunteers. KoloPark pump tracks are springing up around the city like mushrooms, the city's cycling school is training almost 200 children, and associations are working to improve the infrastructure and the entire mountain biking scene. Phenomena such as Golovec Trails and Bike Park Ljubljana have inspired new trail parks all over Slovenia. Everything is integrated practically into the city, allowing cyclists to ride their favourite trails, paths, and tracks, and to enjoy the city even without a car.

The Ljubljana MTB Weekend festival combines these elements and offers visiting and local riders a welcoming platform for a wide range of activities as part of a rich three-day programme, including organised tours and racing.

Remark

The organizing committee consists of the Rajd Cycling Club, the Golovec Trails Sports Club, and media partner mtb.si. The main sponsor of the festival is the City Municipality of Ljubljana, which also supports the construction of mountain biking tracks. Notable tracks include those in Podutik, Rudnik, Rašica, and Črnuče, as well as a whole series of KoloParks.
