Ictus is a Brussels-based contemporary music ensemble dedicated to the creation of experimental music, with activities ranging from performance of contemporary compositions to sound art, improvisation and electronic music. Professor Bad Trip won Best Performance at the Venice Biennale’s Festival of Contemporary Music in 2023. Fausto Romitelli found inspiration for his composition in the hallucinogenically inspired works of Henri Michaux, the paintings of Francis Bacon and the comic strips of Gianluca Lerici. The work also shows the influences of psychedelic rock, techno music and the guitar solos of Jimi Hendrix. Italian-Canadian sound artist Dominic Sambucco is shifting the borders of the conventional in art with his multimedia projects. He draws inspiration for his works from nature and science. His performances feature the innovative use of acoustic instruments, which he combines with new technologies. Sambucco devised Aganis as an experimental work for aquariums full of water, synthesisers and drum machines. Luka Lah and Nejc Pucko, better known as RotorMotor, are a DJ duo whose convincing synergy has conquered clubs in France, Austria, Italy, Croatia and Slovakia in recent years, although their breakthrough on to the electronic music scene began in the clubs of Ljubljana and Maribor, still their favourite venues today. Their total commitment to creating music quickly carried them to the very top of Slovenia’s club scene. Their usual way of introducing themselves: »Motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Rotor turns motion into heat.«
