According to the old calendar, spring began on March 12th, on St. Gregory’s Day. On the eve of this day, especially in craft towns, it was customary to "throw the light into the water," meaning that artisans stopped working by artificial light, as the days were becoming longer. They made paper boats, little houses, and churches with candles and let them float on the water.
At the creative workshop, you will make little houses – gregorčki – from biodegradable materials, which you can release into the Gradaščica River on March 11th, the eve of St. Gregory’s Day, and celebrate the beginning of spring.
Remark
The workshop is suitable for children aged 5 and up.
