The flourishing trade and commerce in medieval Ljubljana, which was an important commercial centre, also brought in more exotic foods.
Oysters most likely arrived in Ljubljana as early as the Middle Ages, as many shells of these prized mollusks were discovered during renovations beneath the City Museum. At Tabar, they have paired the oysters with three different sauces, along with crudo, dry-aged fish, all complemented by the classic combination of Pet-nat sparkling wine.
