Pivnica Kratochwill is a pub well known for brewing its own beer. Its specialty beers range from yeast and seasonal beers to champagne-style beer. The Pivovarna Kratochwill brewery has received several international awards for its beers.

Apart from beer, Pivnica Kratochwill serves traditional Slovenian dishes and a choice of wood-fired pizzas.

Menu choice: Slovenian dishes, Mediterranean dishes, seafood, seasonal dishes, game dishes, pizzas, vegetarian dishes, dietary dishes, grilled dishesmid-morning meals, lunchtime menus, desserts, varietal Slovenian wines.

Typical Ljubljana dishes: Ljubljana goulash, "Little mixed" or tripe stew (goulash), štruklji (with cottage cheese, walnut filling with buckwheat), baked apple štrukelj.
Ljubljana lunch: beef tongue, beef soup with noodles or ‘bleki’ (noodle dough squares), pražen krompir (sauteed potatoes), boiled oxtail, or another cut of beef used in the preparation of beef soup, horseradish with apples or sour cream or egg sauce with chives (‘šnitlahov zos’), Vodnik’s lamb’s lettuce salate, cooked apple strudel (‘štrudl’) or Ljubljana cottage cheese pancakes with tarragon.
