Makalonca Bar&Burger
Makalonca is a charming place where you can enjoy a refreshing drink closer to the river Ljubljanica than anywhere else in the city centre. Being part of the legacy of Ljubljana's great architect Jože Plečnik, it has been designated a cultural monument of national importance. Originally, it was designed as a wharf, but a little less than 50 years ago it was turned into a place to drink named after the main character of the folk tale about Princess Makalonca. Different fairy-tale characters now also feature in the names of the burgers on the menu. Makalonca serves its own beer, brewed by the Central Slovenian microbrewery Mali Grad.
Menu choices: local beers (Mali grad, Bevog, Laško, Union), internationally-branded beers (Heiniken, Guiness, Edelweiss, Krušovice, Corona), cocktails, breakfast, hot dishes, desserts, snacks.
Amenities: summer garden, winter garden, screen showing sporting events, live music, DJ nights, wireless internet access.
