In the heart of Ljubljana, on the corner of Grand Hotel Union, there is the historical Union Café. It boasts a long-standing tradition of over 115 years. The elegant Secession or 'Viennese' café used to be a 'fancy' spot where Slovenian artists, particularly men, used to hang out and discuss (some of them were the painters Jakopič, Smrekar, Čargo, the writers Tavčar, Cankar, Župančič, for example). Nowadays, the café is defined by a much more relaxed vibe. It's a popular spot for both locals and visitors mostly due to the excellent table service and delicious sweet treats. The guests can enjoy a cup of great coffee or choose from a wide selection of cakes and snacks while relishing the delightful atmosphere of this historic venue.
