The cake shop of the Maxi department store is one of the oldest cake shops in Ljubljana. For 40 years, it has been serving the famous Maxi slice, a rich and delicious walnut cake that master pastry chef Avgust Plestenjak used to prepare for the British royal family. The cake shop also offers a wide choice of other sweet delights, including various cakes, home-made pies and pastries, raw cakes, delicate baked goods, and petits fours, all of which are also available to take away.
