Dance Theatre Ljubljana

Dance Theatre Ljubljana (Plesni teater Ljubljana or PTL) is a small but artistically exciting contemporary dance theatre. Its programme of productions, put together by an artistic board consisting of both long-established and young artists, is orientated towards innovation and experimentation. Its productions are staged in collaboration with choreographers from home and abroad, many of them recipients of national and international dance awards.

When Dance Theatre Ljubljana was established in 1984, it laid the foundation for contemporary dance in Slovenia, so to speak. The early members of the company included dancers and choreographers who are now some of the most internationally renowned Slovenian contemporary dance artists, credited with placing Slovenian contemporary dance on the international map (Tanja Zgonc, Matjaž Farič, Iztok Kovač, Sinja Ožbolt, Mateja Bučar, Branko Potočan, Marko Mlačnik, Mateja Rebolj, Brane Završan).
