Oldtimer Skiing and Fun Race
Many people can recall stories about the early times of skiing from their childhood, and current skiers have also witnessed a huge technological advance in the design and the materials of skis, which revolutionized the techniques, over the last decades. The earliest skiers in Central Europe were recorded in the late 17th century on the Bloke Plateau in Slovenia.
At the chosen location participants change into period clothing and receive the “vintage” skis, made of ash tree wood. A thorough demonstration of the skiing technique, followed by some training, is performed, after which a fun race, with individual or group competitors, is organized. The award ceremony comes as a finale of this memourable and fun experience!
