Ljubljana congress delegates survey conducted for the third year in a row
4 Feb 2020
In 2019 the survey on habits, expenditures and expectations of congress delegates was carried out by Ljubljana Tourism / Ljubljana Convention Bureau for the third consecutive time.
The research that was based on the same methodology as in 2017 and 2018 allows for data comparison and provides an insight into three-year trends. In total 1,094 congress delegates were surveyed between 2017 and 2019 at 15 different international association meetings in Ljubljana.
The average 2017-2019 results show a positive trend in delegates' expenditure, comparable to the figures of other European destinations. The overall feedback is very positive to a large extent, which motivates us to further improve the quality of services and experiences in our destination.
The most valued advantages of Ljubljana as perceived by the congress participants are the sense of safety, the professional congress staff, the cleanliness and orderliness of the city and the local hospitality.
The three-year average results confirm that the delegates of international association congresses and other types of business meetings are among the most desirable visitors of Ljubljana due to many multiplying effects and considerably higher expenditure – as they spend on average (per day) three times more than leisure tourists.
The ongoing research is of utmost importance to us, since it allows for the implementation of appropriate strategies at the level of the destination’s congress offer and wider.
