The achievement marks a historic moment for both Slovenia and Ljubljana, as it is the first time the country will have a representative on the ICCA Board of Directors. His election will further boost the visibility of Ljubljana and Slovenia, opening new opportunities for hosting international events and supporting sustainable initiatives.

Jan Oršič has more than twenty years of experience in tourism and has been the head of Ljubljana Convention Bureau at Ljubljana Tourism for almost seven years. In this role, he has been instrumental in establishing Slovenia's capital as a prominent international meetings destination. His election will further raise the profile of Ljubljana (and Slovenia in general) on the global map of the meetings industry and open up new opportunities for hosting international events.

Ljubljana's prominent position in the global meetings industry is also confirmed by ICCA's statistics. The Slovenian capital ranked 50th in the global rankings and 33rd in the European rankings. This achievement demonstrates the growing attractiveness of the city for international conferences and events, despite strong global competition.

Tomorrow starts today

The four-day ICCA Congress in Abu Dhabi, held under the theme "Tomorrow Starts Today", offered meeting industry professionals the opportunity to attend a wide range of professional events: lectures, panels, workshops ... From global trends such as geopolitics, teleworking and inflation, to the way we work (marketing, technology, etc.), the Congress offered an exclusive insight into the current trends and key changes that will affect the meetings industry in the coming year.

There was also a strong focus on sustainability, which was addressed both through the prism of social inclusion and accessibility, and the environmental and social impacts of the events.

The ICCA Congress is one of the most important events in the global meetings industry. This year it had a record attendance, with more than 1500 delegates from all over the world.
