Did you know Slovenia is a green hidden gem for cycling enthusiasts? The 24th Tour of Slovenia cycling road race taking place from 15 to 18 June will no doubt prove this. After its start in Koper its second stage will take place in and around Ljubljana on 16 June.

The tour is broadcast live by the European sports network Eurosport. Among others, it's attended by the cycling world heavyweights including Mark Cavendish and Rafał Majka. The local Slovenian favorite is Jan Polanc.

Its second stage starts  Friday 16 June in Ljubljana. The race will commence at 10:55 in front of the Tivoli sports hall. Cyclists will make 170 kilometres across the Central Slovenia region. Finishing line is set on Slovenska cesta street near Kongresni trg where things will start happening at around 15:00.

Tour of Slovenia - stages:

  • 15 June: Koper-Kočevje (159.4 km)
  • 16 June: Around Ljubljana (169.9 km)
  • 17 June: Celje-Rogla (167.7 km)
  • 18 June: Rogaška Slatina-Novo mesto (160 km)
