Souvenirs are unique little keepsakes that travellers bring back from their travels as gifts for their loved ones or to remind themselves of the places they have visited.In recent years, Ljubljana Tourism has developed recognizable, aesthetic, high quality and user friendly collection of souvenirs, which significantly co-created the image of an attractive, modern and a lively city. The collection is now available online, in an environment friendly packaging, or without it. The products are beautiful and useful gifts, intended for foreign and domestic visitors of Ljubljana.

Stories of Ljubljana souvenirs

The Ljubljana Tourism souvenirs were inspired by interesting Ljubljana stories: from Makalonca to the Ljubljana Rose, from the dragon Ljubo to the beloved Ljubljana.

“Makalonca” was created on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the birth of the world-renowned architect Jože Plečnik. The common thread connecting the beautifully designed items in the collection are Plečnik’s illustrations for the children’s book Makalonca by Fran Saleški Finžgar. The collection consists of three lines or series: kitchenware (enamel mugs), stationery (pencils, erasers, notebooks…) and personal products (shopping or travel bags and leather bags).

The “Ljubo the Dragon” collection is adorned by the charming image of Ljubljana dragon, which can be an eternal romantic, a skilled skateboarder or a relaxed swimmer on the Ljubljanica embankment. The collection consists of T-shirts, various mugs, shopping or school bags and plush dragons.

Word “Ljubljana” in fact sounds like “ljubljena”, a Slovene word meaning “beloved”, and many people believe this is no coincidence. It is a city in which you will feel the romance. The city’s romantic spirit was the inspiration for the “Ljubljana with Love” souvenir collection (rain capes, umbrellas, coffee-to-go mugs, key chains, masks, etc.).
