Ljubljana’s dragon mascot
Ljubljana’s dragon mascot, known as Zmajček (“Little Dragon”), is an ambassador of the Ljubljana brand and represents our city at tourism and promotional events in Slovenia and abroad.
You may already be familiar with him from Ljubljana Tourism’s social network accounts. You can meet him in the flesh at tourism fairs and exchanges, other promotional events in Slovenia and abroad, certain free open-air events and sports events in Ljubljana, and, occasionally, on guided tours of the city, where he provides additional entertainment.
The events where Zmajček appears are politically neutral or apolitical and promote socially positive values, tolerance at all levels, and a responsible and sustainable orientation.
Ljubljana’s dragon mascot does not speak. He is a mischievous and playful character and is fond of the company. He is not a typical mascot that simply blends in with the crowd. He loves to dance and join in with sports and other activities. From time to time he likes to involve willing members of the public in his adventures.
Because he does not speak, his thoughts, recommendations and invitations appear in written form. You can find them on some of the promotional materials produced by Ljubljana Tourism.

A stylised dragon image also appears on Ljubljana-themed souvenirs as part of the Ljubo the Dragon collection. Soft toy versions are available, along with T-shirts, magnets, mugs and shopping bags decorated with dragon images.
