KoloParks in the Region
Kolopark Vrhnika
In Vrhnika, in the sports park at Vrtnarija, along the walking and cycling route from the centre of Vrhnika to Sinja Gorica and onwards to Ljubljana, is the largest bike park (pumptrack polygon) in the area of the western part of Barje and its hinterland.
The total area of the Vrhnika Bike Park is approximately 650 square metres and is divided into a larger and a smaller park. The first one is a delight for more skilled cyclists, the second one for complete beginners. The track of the larger pumptrack is 115 metres long and has 18 bumps, while the track of the smaller or children's pumptrack is about 35 metres long and has six bumps.
There are bike racks, a drinking fountain and benches to sit on.
And another interesting fact: neighbours of the bike track say that they sometimes see our greatest writer, Ivan Cankar, "pumping" on the track!
Equipment: helmet (compulsory), other protective equipment (recommended)

Parking: near the park on Kolodvorska Street or in front of Anton Martin Slomšek Primary School; LPP bus Ljubljana-Vrhnika, line no. 47
Kolopark Borovnica
Kolopark in Borovnica is located on the right bank of the Borovniščica stream, opposite a housing estate and in the immediate vicinity of the P+R car park at the railway station. The theme park of the Borovnica Viaduct is also not far away.
The Pumptrack polygon is 30 metres long and 20 metres wide. On this area, an asphalted undulating track, 2.5 metres wide, winds for about 200 metres. The polygon consists of rounded bumps and curves which are rhythmically linked together in a circular pattern on the paved and paved surface. The variety of the polygon makes for a varied and fun, but also safe, experience. The intermediate area is grassed and the surrounding area is planted with shrubs and street furniture, including benches, bike racks and a bike repair stand with basic tools and an air pump attached.
Equipment: helmet (compulsory), other protective equipment (recommended)
Location: Kolopark Borovnica
Parking: P+ R at the railway station in Borovnica; train Ljubljana-Borovnica
Kolopark Dragomer
Next to the kindergarten and primary school in Dragomer, and next to the local sports park, there is another pumptrack pumptrack in the hinterland of Barje. It has 230 square metres of running surface and is 125 metres long. It is also designed for a diverse audience: complete beginners can enjoy it, but it is also a challenge for experienced users.
Right next to the pumptrack polygon is the smaller DR. MUD with a pumptrack polygon and "dirt" jumps of medium size and four levels of difficulty: green, blue, red and black.
Equipment: helmet (compulsory), other protective equipment (recommended, especially for the DR. MUD park)
Location: Kolopark Dragomer
Parking: parking lot by the Kolopark; LPP bus Ljubljana-Vrhnika, line no. 47
Kolopark Rakitna
The most elevated Kolopark in the hinterland of Barje, at almost 800 metres above sea level. It is located in the centre of Rakitna, on the hillside above the kindergarten and the branch school, close to the outdoor gym and children's play areas, on an area of around 600 square metres. It has an elongated track of about 50 metres in length. It has a 180-degree turning circle at both ends. There are a total of 19 humps on the start and return sections.
Not far away is the main tourist area of the village - by the lake, where there is also a hotel, and you can walk to the replica of the famous 64-metre-long mast, which was made by the local furmen at the end of the 19th century for a Slovenian shipowner's sailing ship and transported to Trieste, and go for a hike along the marked Forest and Archaeological Educational Trail Rimski Zid (Roman Wall) at Rakitna.
Equipment: helmet (compulsory), other protective equipment (recommended)
Parking: near the park, in front of the entrance to the school and kindergarten or at the church
Bike park Radna na Brezovici
In the woods of Brezovica, next to a meadow and a stream, the Radna Bike Park has been created with three trails: an easier one without jumps, which is also suitable for complete beginners, and two trails with and without jump tables (boards) with holes (gaps); the latter have four jump tables and are up to 100 metres long. Less skilled riders will enjoy the jump tables without holes, and with proper and sufficient practice they will eventually be able to tackle even the most demanding course in the park, where jumps must be precisely timed. A great workout for those who enjoy single-track trails in nature and would like to be able to descend them with more confidence! While the basic track can be ridden by the youngest with a no pedal balance bike, BMX and dirt bikes (or any other mountain bike) are suitable for more challenging tracks.
Caution: after prolonged rainfall, the trails are usually too wet for cycling.
Equipment: helmet and other protective gear
