Ljubljana, with narrow streets, the castle on the hill, and the Ljubljanica river that runs through the city is a perfect place for falling in love. The tour will take you past the City Hall, where many citizens of Ljubljana tied the knot up to the Gornji trg square which has been a place for gatherings, dancing, and socializing. Many love stories started right there. Wondering about how they ended? Well, you will have the chance to find out on the tour.
Crossing the Ljubljanica river, you’ll be able to see the Trnovo beach with many willow trees, a popular hideout for young people in love. You will reach the Eipprova street, known for the annual event on March 11th, when we celebrate St. Gregory’s day or the so-called Slovenian Valentine’s Day. We will leave the story behind this folk tradition a secret for just for a little while longer. But we are certain you will be satisfied when you hear our explanation on the tour.
With a short stop, you will be able to indulge yourself with a sweet surprise and write a LUV letter to that special someone in your life, to send her or him your love, your gratitude, or just simply say hi. After that, you will head back to the Prešeren square, named after the most famous Slovenian poet. From the moment France Prešeren laid eyes on Julija Primic, she turned into his muse and sadly also his unrequited love which became an inspiration to one of the most beautiful and romantic poems in Slovenian poetry, so it was not all for nothing…
The last stop will be the Butcher’s bridge. Don’t be fooled by the name, the bridge is a very popular place for all people in love who come to the bridge to lock their love with a lock.
