The legendary painter, writer, and musician has repeatedly proven himself to be a complex and versatile creator. Known as a long-time mental health therapist, he recently surprised everyone with a new venture when, during the COVID pandemic, he opened Gallery 57A, encouraging people to overcome the challenges of isolation through creative expression.

The Dalibor Zupančič exhibition is part of the SEVENTIES program and research project, focusing on the so-called "second line" (countercultures as a more radical branch of subculture), which reexamines the existing history of art in Slovenia. This movement operated within mass culture, consistently reflecting on the socio-political reality in which it emerged. The central figure of the Celje art scene in the 1970s was Dalibor Bori Zupančič.

The 1970s in Celje were marked by independent artistic practices that were critical of the institutional state apparatus, state ideology, and mainstream cultural production.
