The exhibition *From the Countryside to the City: Life in Zeleni Jam* marks two significant anniversaries for ethnology and anthropology: the 60th anniversary of the first systematic ethnological study of the urban environment in Slovenia, and the 85th anniversary of the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana.

In 1964, Slavko Kremenšek completed his doctoral dissertation titled The Ljubljana Neighborhood Zelena Jama as an Ethnological Problem. His research marked an important turning point in ethnology, sparking further exploration in urban environments. Sixty years after this pioneering study, students and collaborators from the Department of Ethnology returned to Zelena jama, where they collected contemporary impressions and perspectives. These are presented in the exhibition alongside themes that currently guide the work of the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology.
