One of the missions of the Ljubljana Festival is the nurturing of young musicians, which partly takes place through the organisation of masterclasses. Among the guest teachers who return each year are cellist Jens-Peter Maintz, a member of the prestigious Spectrum Concerts Berlin ensemble; violist Hartmut Rohde, an honorary member of the Royal Academy of Music in London; double bassist Rick Stotijn, who has performed world premieres of works by contemporary composers; and bassoonist Ole Kristian Dahl, since 2017 a visiting professor at the Royal College of Music in London.

The Jubilee 10th Trade Show Conventa 2018 took place in Ljubljana
A combination of criteria (among other destination’s air accessibility, number of 4* and 5* hotels, number of hotel rooms and population) was the basis for the final ranking, which ranking provides international meeting planners with a comprehensive information on the overall capacities of individual destinations. Ljubljana was also the winner of Best Event Award for the event Eurocities 2017. The ceremony was attended by Ljubljana Mayor Zoran Jankovic with deputy Mayor Tjasa Ficko and their team.

Hotel Mrak and its peculiar inhabitants
Well-known for the excellent Slovenian traditional cuisine and a relaxed atmosphere, it soon became a household name in the local art community, attracting writers, painters, architects, professors, and actors alike.
