Nika Ravnik is a designer and costume designer who pays special attention to exploring the structure, texture and form of a garment. She graduated in Textile and Clothing Design at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering in Ljubljana and studied at Saint Martins in London and Designskolen Kolding in Denmark.
The ethos of her work is sustainability-oriented, focusing on a conscientious design approach, such as the "zero-waste" principle where materials are fully utilised; the "one size fits all" concept; and the principle of versatility, which allows a single piece to be worn in many different ways.
Simple geometric forms form the initial basis of the creations, which are transformed into genuine wearable pieces through experimentation and the manipulation of details. The conceptual aspect is reflected in the aesthetics with a touch of the avant-garde and timelessness.
